TEMPORARY ACCESS ENGINEERED FOR HYDROCARBON ENVIRONMENTS
Lighter to lift. Rated for the load. Built for the turnaround window.

Specifications at a Glance
How Taurus carries a steel-class load rating without the weight or the conductivity risk.
Conventional Access Was Not Built for Hydrocarbon Processing
Refinery turnarounds run on a fixed clock, in an environment where conventional steel access carries its own risk profile:
Conductive Steel in an Energized Environment
Standard steel access is a continuous conductive pathway, a risk multiplier wherever work is carried out around energized plant.
Weight That Costs Schedule
Steel’s weight compounds across thousands of components into more crane lifts and more manual handling, inside a turnaround window calculated down to the hour.
Manual-Handling Injury at Height
Heavier components mean more physical strain moving through elevated pipe racks, catwalks, and vessel access decks, one of the persistent injury drivers in turnaround work.
Where Taurus is Used in Refineries & Hydrocarbon Processing
Process Columns & Pressure Vessels
Modular access configured around vertical columns, reactors, and elevated process units.
Elevated Pipe Racks & Valve Banks
Lightweight components navigate cramped, multi-level infrastructure without exceeding structural deck limits.
Turnaround Shutdowns & Planned Outages
Fast wedge-lock connection mechanism accelerates erection and dismantle cycles, protecting critical-path wrench time.

Why Taurus Matters in Refinery & Processing Environments
1. Reduced Conductivity by Design
Polymer joint isolation is engineered into the connection node itself, not added as an accessory, reducing the conductive pathway inherent to standard steel access on and around energized plant (international patent family; formal validation program underway).
2. A Steel-Class Rating at Roughly Half the Weight
The system delivers a certified 6.6 kN (1,488 lbs / 675 kg) heavy-duty platform rating under AS/NZS 1576.1, at roughly half the weight of comparable steel systems. Across a turnaround, that difference compounds into fewer crane lifts and less manual handling inside a fixed window.
3. Closed Hardware Profile
Operating as a closed 25-component system prevents unapproved third-party parts from entering live units, a requirement under AS/NZS 1576 (Clause 5.3.1) as well as a Taurus standard.
4. Rated for Process Heat, Not Just Ambient Conditions
The structural-polymer joint carries a Heat Deflection Temperature of 215°C (419°F), maintaining mechanical integrity through the industrial heat cycles and hostile ambient conditions found around live process equipment.
